This castle is so amazing we have a special stop for it on our tour! Marksburg Castle is a fortress built in 1117 to protect the town of Braubach. It is the only castle in the Rhine area that has not been destroyed (Wikipedia). The castle has great history and architecture that'll make you wish you could stay here forever!

Wildlife
The Rhine River has diverse species of fish and birds. Some examples of fish include pike, salmon, various types of eels, and trout (Wikipedia). It's no wonder why the river attracts so many fishers each year! Swan, geese, and lapwings also hunt for fish here. Unfortunately, many species of fish have died out because of the pollution in the Rhine. However, efforts are underway to restore the natural habitat of these animals.
